What exactly is failure? Is it same as failing?…well let’s find out. According to me failure is not related to any outcome rather it’s state of mind where we give up trying. We all have faced some, but rather than learning from it we are more concerned about it’s consequences. Failing is quite different from failure, you might not be able to prevent failure but it’s completely upon you whether you fail or not. It’s almost like, Failure gives you an invitation to fail, now it’s your choice whether to accept it or not.
People would not understand the real meaning of success unless they fail. Even successful people encounter failure, but it is the way they tackle it which makes them different from others. Success has no meaning without failure rather it is an essential part of it. The main purpose of failure is to teach you something hence to avoid failing you should always learn and grow out of it, considering it as a part of life.
Have you ever heard about Karoly Takacs, he was the top pistol shooter in the world. He was expected to win the gold in the 1940 Olympic Games scheduled for Tokyo.
Those expectations vanished on one terrible day when just before the Olympic a hand grenade exploded in Takacs’ right hand, and his shooting hand was blown off.
Now imagine if you were at his place, you would have probably given up as your only hope has lost. But, Takacs did something unexpected, he started practicing with his left arm, being so determined his hardwork paid off as he had gained some expertise in shooting with his left arm in just few months. Eventually he won the Gold Medal and set a new world record in pistol shooting. Four years later, Takacs won another Gold at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. He was truly a man with the mental toughness to bounce back from anything.
So to be successful we should never stop trying and learning from failure, just like Takacs did.
